Lux Magna présente/presents:
The mesmerizing and dark velvet sounding Thus Owls from Montreal is built around the core of Swedish-Canadian couple Erika and Simon Angell. Simon’s harshly charismatic guitar blends with the urgency of Erika’s vocals to create a sound that bends and stretches their unusual compositions into ever newer and surprising shapes.
Heathers is a three-piece post-punk/grunge band from Montreal. Formed in 2012, they have played multiple festivals and toured parts of Canada and the US. Their latest album, Midnight Is A Place was released in May 2018.
Lungbutter is an experimental noise rock trio from Montreal. Mixing the sludgy heaviness of The Melvins with the aplomb of The Fall, they've been spreading their white-knuckled nihilism and shrieked revelations across stages near and far since 2013.
Nennen is a slow burn, unflinching, toeing the line between total control and a complete unraveling. Threading the ferocity of post-hardcore and the weight of doom metal through sparse, repetitive tones with layers of unexpected melody, Nennen builds a slow-burning landscape of atmospheric tones and heavy truths, bringing you somewhere threatening, vulnerable, and deeply beautiful.
