Mask Making (Sala Rossa, 11AM to 4PM)
Introduction to mask making for youth and the young at heart. Baby clown and mask-maker Katey Wattam will be on-site to guide folks in the creation of their own mask(s).
Katey Wattam is of mixed settler and Anishinaabe ancestry who has been using theatre as a way to mine her body and the bodies of others for their blood memory; a weaving of past and present experiences and traumas with a text to reclaim and decolonize bodies, minds, and spaces. After completing an Honours B. A. in Drama & Theatre at McGill University, she founded Beige Theatre Co., which was nominated “Most Promising English Company” at the Montreal Fringe Festival for her direction of David Gow’s Cherry Docs.
